REFUGEE & ACTIVIST SEEKING SAFETY IN the U.S.
Awad is a Sudanese human rights defender facing harassment and threats for her work. She is a refugee seeking resettlement in the U.S. who is stuck in a seemingly endless limbo. Her case is emblematic of the Trump administration’s continuing efforts to destroy the U.S. Refugee Resettlement Program and the lifesaving opportunities it offers to people like Awad. Please help Awad access safety and a home in the U.S. as soon as possible to protect her from further threats to her safety in Egypt, and deportation to Sudan, where she would be in jeopardy because of her human rights advocacy.
Take Action: Tell the Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo to ensure that Awad is resettled to safety in the U.S.
