Thank you for joining us for this years’ Write for Rights campaign! The resources on this page will help you and your students participate in Write for Rights, Amnesty International’s largest annual global grassroots letter writing campaign, focusing on individual cases of human rights abuses around the world.

We are celebrating 22 years of people like you taking action around the world calling for the release of prisoners of conscience, supporting human rights defenders in need, and seeking justice for past human rights abuses. Here you will find all the necessary materials you will need to run a successful Write for Rights campaign. Thank you and your students for learning about this year’s 10 cases and for taking action!

Please don’t forget to REPORT your actions. Have any questions, email us at [email protected].

Write for Rights works!

In Write for Rights 2021, letters from students supported and amplified the voice of Bernardo Caal, an environmental human rights defender in Guatemala. He had been in prison since 2018 and was serving a seven year prison sentence. In March 2022, we learned the incredible news that Bernardo had been released. Thank you to all of you who participated in this campaign last year! Read more good news stories here.
